Boxing Vic Inc congratulates Ibrahim Balla on his selection in the Australian Olympic Team.
Ibrahim’s Olympic run ramped up at the Australian National competition in Hobart in March where he beat B.Rice (QLD), J.Moloney (VIC) and ex Olympic L.Boyd (NSW) in a Countback in the Final to win the Australian Championship.
Ibrahim then travelled to Canberra to battle it out at the Oceania Olympic Qualifier in the 56 kg weight division, where he convincingly defeated both Samoa and New Zealand to secure his place in the Australian Olympic Team to be held in London later this year. Australia will send a maximum 10 man team to London.
Latest News: Iby won a Silver Medal at the 50th Belgrade Winner Tournament in Serbia in the 2nd week of May, pipped out on a Gold on a count back. We wish Ibrahim all the very best, he has certainly made his state very proud.
